   The road to reform of Japan National Railways has reached a critical point. Let us work together to complete a major project that will open the way to the future of Japan Railways. The new year's reforms have come to a critical juncture. After that, the Chief Engineer, on behalf of the JNR technical staff, gave a speech. Then, in an unusual move, three employees expressed their commitment to the reform on behalf of the entire workforce.

    These instructions were also broadcasted to all the administrative bureaus and directorates nationwide via a micro-line.

Private Railways Go on Strike as Time Runs Out for Wage Negotiations 4/10

Wage negotiations at major private railway companies concluded early in the morning at 12,500 yen, but some unions ran out of time and went on strike, suspending 119 trains in total and affecting 250,000 workers.

On the other hand, six small and medium-sized unions, including Sotetsu, reached an agreement in the morning with the same content as the major companies.

JNR Announces November 61 Timetable Revisions 4/11.

     The main pillars of the revised timetable are the 220 km/h Shinkansen bullet train service and the expansion of limited express and new rapid trains on conventional lines, as well as the expansion of container trains for freight services.

    About 1,200 ex-members of the Japan National Railway Workers' Union (JNRWU) held a convention in Tokyo, aiming for a new course of labor-management cooperation.

    Representatives of three unions, Douro,  Japan Railway Workers’ Union, and Zenseiro, delivered speeches.

    In July,

Shinkoku-ro joined with  Japan Railway Workers’ Union, Doyo, and Zensei-ro, all of which advocated labor-management cooperation, to establish the Japan National Railways Reform Trade Union Council →61/9/1

 JNR offers new wages for FY1961 to unions, 2.75% including regular salary increase 4/18

     JNR offers each union a 2.75% wage increase of 6041 yen, lower than last year's rate.

 The public corporation authorities responded to the unions with a paid response. JNR's response is 6,041 yen (2.75%, including regular salary increase). The unions are dissatisfied and terminate collective bargaining. Application for conciliation filed on April 21. 4/18.
